TMWC US Open preview: Women’s 65, 68, 72, 76kg

Women’s action from the 2019 U.S. Open will begin in one day. TMWC is looking to claim their 6thwomen’s National title. In the upper weights, TMWC will have some heavy hitters, looking to win the title and claim a spot in the Final X.

65 kg: Forrest Molinari: Molinari comes into the U.S. Open as the top wrestler at 65 kg after defeating former coach and teammate Julie Salata of the NYAC to make the 2018 World team. Forrest was just short of making the podium in Budapest, but has made major strides throughout the season. As a heavily offensive competitor, Molinari has become a crowd favorite.

68 kg: Jayden Laurent: The Wisconsin native is one of TMWC’s new additions to the roster. As a college Freshman, Laurent won her first WCWA title. However she comes with a long list of international competition. Look for Laurent to make her mark at this year’s U.S. Open.

72 kg: Alyvia Fiske: The first of two Titan Mercury wrestlers, Alyvia Fiske is coming off of a strong college season where she received All American honors for Simon Fraser. Fiske also won this year’s Dave Schultz memorial.

72 kg: Victoria Francis: After taking last season off, Francis is looking to claim her spot back as #1 at 72 kg. The veteran has been one of the premier wrestlers in the upper divisions. In 2017 Francis represented team USA at the World Championships in Paris.

76 kg: Korinahe Bullock: Kori Bullock had her breakthrough performance last year at the World Team Trials where she claimed a berth into the Final X against Adeline Grey. Bullock, an All American for McKendree University will look to make the Final X again. The first stop… the U.S. Open.
